EU-ZIRA3A Highlights Sustainable Agriculture at the MAPs Festival in Beni Suef
Beni Suef, Egypt EU-ZIRA3A Programme participated in the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) Festival in Beni Suef, attracting more than 200 visitors to its booth.
The EU Integrated Rural Development Programme for Egypt is funded by the European Union (EU) with a total fund of €24M and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in three governorates of Assiut, Sohag, and Beni Suef.
The programme has been designed to support the Egyptian Government in implementing the Sustainable Agriculture Development (SADS) and to support the socio-economic development and improve livelihood of the rural communities. The implementation period started in November 2022 with a total duration of 66 months.
Direct beneficiaries:
The main targeted direct beneficiaries will be the rural communities of farmers, their cooperatives (producers’ groups and producers organizations), including community-based associations and civil society organizations.
Total Funding: EU- 24 M Euros, AICS: Parallel funding Euro 3,3M Euros
